Many people perceive the Zodiac as something ephemeral and not quite true. They consider it the subject of complete harmony: 12 signs, 12 months, 12 houses, 4 elements, 3 spiritual areas, etc. At the same time, every zodiac sign have the size of 30 degrees, and it seems harmonious. Everything is fair, everything is equal. However, the Zodiac is not a figment of human imagination, despite the fact that the individual modeled it. But he did it, watching the sky! In space, as well as on Earth, phenomena don't have regular forms.

The figure is from the Astronomical Encyclopedia. It depicts the ecliptic — a closed line of the solar path crossing 13 zodiac constellations.

Traditional astrology believes that the zodiacal signs and constellations are not the same thing and cannot be identified. But if we accept astrology as a full-fledged scientific knowledge, then it should be based on astronomy whose experience is substantiated mathematically and physically. Consequently, Ophiuchus is the same full-fledged element of the Zodiac as the other 12 constellations. This means that the Solar System planets, when passing at a certain time through the area of Ophiuchus, modify their radiation under the specific influence of its energy.

In both figures it's clear that the zodiacal constellations have different lengths, and therefore the periods of the planet's passage through one sign or another are different.

The dates of the Sun's stay in each of the zodiac signs, as established by the International Astronomical Union:

  • Aries, April 19 — May 13
  • Taurus, May 14 — June 19
  • Gemini, June 20 — July 20
  • Cancer, July 21 — August 9
  • Leo, August 10 — September 15
  • Virgo, September 16 — October 30
  • Libra, October 31 — November 22
  • Scorpio, November 23 — November 29
  • Ophiuchus, November 30 — December 17
  • Sagittarius, December 18 — January 18
  • Capricorn, January 19 — February 15
  • Aquarius, February 16 — March 11
  • Pisces, March 12 — April 18

When studying a star chart, it's easy to notice how the constellations differ from each other in their shape and size. At present, the most capacious areas of the ecliptic are the following: Taurus, Leo, Virgo, Ophiuchus, Sagittarius and Pisces; the smallest are Aries, Cancer, Libra, Scorpio and Aquarius.

This aspect has a significant meaning, because it affects the astrological calculations and interpretations. Therefore, the results of the calculations must be done in accordance with the zodiacal form of the constellations, taking into account their lengths, and in no other way.
